About the conference
A scholarly gathering on the questions that shape the Ummah
The Faculty of Shariʿah and Islamic Studies at International Islamic University Chittagong invites researchers, academics and specialists worldwide to contribute original papers examining the contemporary challenges facing the Muslim Ummah — and the wisdom, moderation and knowledge with which they may be met.
Conference scope
Conference objectives
Six aims frame every session, panel and paper presented across the two days.

Highlighting the most significant contemporary challenges facing the Muslim Ummah.

The importance of wisdom (Al-Hikmah) and good counsel (Al-Mau'ijatul Hasanah) in confronting these challenges.

The importance of using modern science and technology in addressing contemporary challenges.

Reinforcing the values of moderation (wasatiyyah) among the Muslim Ummah in all aspects of their lives.
- 05
Keeping pace with the contemporary challenges facing the Muslim Ummah in today's world.
- 06
Returning the Ummah to its authentic source — the Qurʾan and Sunnah.

Papers may address any of the following axes. Submissions in Arabic or English are equally welcome.

The diverse social challenges facing the Muslim Ummah.

The religious and cultural challenges facing the Muslim Ummah.

The economic and commercial challenges facing the Muslim Ummah.

The technical and knowledge-related challenges facing the Muslim Ummah.

The challenges posed by deniers of the Sunnah and how to confront them in the present age.
- Technology07
The challenges of artificial intelligence and prospects for harnessing it in human service.

The environmental and security challenges facing the Muslim Ummah.
- Identity09
The reality of Muslim minorities in the world and preserving Islamic identity.
- Unity10
The role of unity and solidarity in the advancement of the Muslim Ummah in the age of globalization.

The importance of studies and research in confronting destructive ideas.

The challenges facing Muslim youth in the age of globalization and ways to confront them.
